Foggy Fast Forward

So I haven't been writing like I should... I wanted to write so many times - but it just seems like the last few weeks have been a blur no matter how I am trying to slow them down... First I've been sick with a bad head cold for 5 days. THAT IS UNHEARD OF for me... I HATE being sick and I actually have slept 2 mornings COMPLETELY away. I feel like I am looking through life right now through a foggy veil of haziness. It's all I can do just to focus. Also it the end of the year activities with the school. Both girls have had a lot going on... a lot of helping at the school, end of year class trips, school plays, school luncheons, school, school, school!! The hardest part my Sweetpea's coming to an end of her elementary school career... it's super hard to imagine her heading off to middle school (6th grade) next Fal - so hard it brings tears - stinging my eyes. How fast these years have flown by? I am trying to make a dress for her for her "graduation" next Thursday and I have to add FIVE inches to the dress! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? FIVE inches? When did my lil' baby girl get to be so big?

I've been working on outfits for the summer for the girls... especially after Sweetpea said to me "Mommy you've made so many things for other people... you haven't made ME anyyyyyything in a lonnnnng time"... well time to put my babies FIRST on my list... after all THEY are why I am staying home... and THEY are my very top priority... AND THEY are the loves of my life! Sooooo outfits we started - I used Jona G's (from Fabritopia) patterns - EVELYN skirt for the girls.
Take a gander at these beaut's (if I do say so myself - although the girls' smiles speak wonders as well)...
BooBooBear's skirt and tank top made with Riley Blake's Summer Song complete with homemade tree applique

ABSOLUTELY love this photo...

And the back...

Sweetpea's skirt made with Dena Design fabric and apron in Heather Bailey

Loving her outfit...

We LOVE the birdies on the fabric!

Here's her tank top with our homemade birdie applique! LOVING the cap sleeves! A cute modest touch!
And now am working on dresses for each of the girls!
I love sewing for them... I am happy and sad of the changes... it just seems to me that life has suddenly been put on this crazy Fast Forward. It just seems that time keeps on marching by... despite the fact that I want it to slow down, to make a still shot of these moments, to let me relish this time with my girlies...

Oops life happens... again...

Been awhile since I posted and man I SWORE I was going to keep it updated with the fun of Christmas with my family here... but well... family time was sooo much more important! I know you know what I mean (those two people that read this... lol).

But seriously - I had HIGH hopes for the start of this year... and now well - looky here! It's already the 11th (doh now the 12th since it's after midnight) and I feel like I can just NEVER get on top of all the things pulling at me. 2011 is supposed to be the year that I feel like I am actually back to being me... Kymmie. The one whom is organized, put together, the go-to gal, the one who actually can maintain a clean/decluttered house...

Aaaaaa who am I kidding. Baby steps right? Just because the clock turned a new year upon us... and that I am feeling a bit more human (mentally and physically) well excruciatingly... slowly pulling myself out of the sewers of our terrible year- doesn't mean that I should expect miracles... should it? I still need to work on my resolutions and also on my New Year's cards... maybe that will kick-start me in to getting with the program?!

For now I leave you with a few photos of a wonderful vacation with a wonderful family and promise to pull what little of myself I have right now... together.

Please forgive me of time wasted...

A song by Nickel Creek resonates with me today...

Let's back up for a sec... I ADORE, heart, love Nickel Creek (my most favorite song is The Lighthouse Tale - such a gorgeous, haunting love song...but will talk about that another time - oh so love that song!).

I digress... they have another song called Doubting Thomas... and THIS song is the one that resonates with me right now... Don't watch the video it is not theirs... (& it didn't match with what the song meant to me). Just listen... it really can take all different meanings. For me... it has everything to do with what's going on here in my life - right now. Again I am amazed how music can just mold and melt to our lives to help us through or coast along side.

I am a Doubting Thomas...

"Doubting Thomas"

What will be left when I've drawn my last breath
Besides the folks I've met and the folks who've known me
Will I discover a soul-saving love
Or just the dirt above and below me

I'm a doubting Thomas
I took a promise
But I do not feel safe
Oh me of little faith

Sometimes I pray for a slap in the face
Then I beg to be spared cause I'm a coward
If there's a master of death
I bet he's holding his breath
As I show the blind and tell the deaf about his power

I'm a doubting Thomas
I can't keep my promises
Cause I don't know what's safe
Oh me of little faith

Can I be used to help others find truth
When I'm scared I'll find proof that it's a lie
Can I be led down a trail dropping bread crumbs
That prove I'm not ready to die

Please give me time to decipher the signs
Please forgive me for time that I've wasted

I'm a doubting Thomas
I'll take your promise
Though I know nothin's safe
Oh me of little faith
Please forgive me for the time I've wasted...
Huh. Time's a very precious thing isn't it?

Time

Just one thought tonight... as I am staying up TOO late (once again)...

I understand the concept behind Daylight Savings Time... and in the Fall I almost really like it... but I have to say... in the Spring...well it basically stinks. Like stinks rotten eggs. Has anyone ever tried to get two little girls to bed when it's still light outside and convince them that indeed it is bedtime. Or convince them that it is not time to get up yet?!

And I was just getting used to waking up and it's lovely light outside... now we're back to it being DARK Sigh.
Yep... my one thought...

I DO NOT LIKE Daylight Savings Time... "Springing Forward" - I do not like it Sam-I-Am...

HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY Little Boo! 7/27/02

I just cannot believe she's 7! It went by so fast. I held her tiny little form when she was born and wondered at the miracle placed on me. How could I be so lucky and blessed? She was strong and continues to be strong. She is a fighter, a leader, independent, and mine.
Why does time soar along so fast? I held her tightly, caressing her and loving her tiny little form. Loving how she fit in my arms. I blinked. She changed. She is no longer my tiny baby - but she is so big & strong, beautiful, growing and changing so fast. I am afraid to blink again. I am afraid I will miss something of this small, little wonder. I am afraid that she will blossom and change so fast that my heart will not grow with her.

how little you were...

Ahhh time is a funny thing. But time does give us blessings of watching the wonder of the world through their eyes. And seeing all the miracles of their becoming "themselves". So special. So sacred.

My baby... my tiny little Boo... seven. When did it happen?

Happy birthday sweet Boo Boo Bear... Happy Birthday to my baby, always.

Hard to believe...

I cannot believe that my baby is turning SEVEN in a week... I was looking at photos tonight and I couldn't believe the one I just found... It almost makes me hurt looking at it! Boo was a very difficult pregnancy for me... unfortunately partly one of the reasons my back is the way it is (big babies), but also she truly wanted to come EARLY... like at 22 weeks!!! WOW! Good thing with "house arrest" - she waited till the DAY BEFORE her due date...

Just look at me... (and her) when I was 9 months pregnant with my baby girl...
OH MY GOODNESS!

But I was so happy carrying that little girl... and now she's turning SEVEN?! When the heck did that happen? I just adore her... and so does everyone that meets her!! Hard to believe... SEVEN?! Can I PLEASE have another one?! Oh please? oh please? OH PLEASE?!

Birthdays... they're coming...

Oh my gosh so I just really got a grip of reality...

I have been thinking about my baby's birthday and wondering, worrying, STARTING to plan (nothing like being prepared) for her birthday on July 27th! I cannot believe that she is going to be SEVEN... yes... SEVEN. Hello?! When did that happen?! My BABY! But then I suddenly remember oh my goodness... CHRIS' BIRTHDAY IS THIS THURSDAY! UGHhhhhhhhhhhh! I am so unprepared... SO unprepared... but that is ok... he has given a few hints and I will get something together. He's pretty easy as far as what he likes to eat/birthday cake etc... But as far as gifts... well that's another story.

So right now I am going to try and figure out what to do for my baby's birthday and my hubby's birthday too! OH BOY! It's going to be a busy, busy week!! But at least this way it keeps me busy and my mind occupied instead of dwelling on the negative things!!

Well I guess I'd better go and some things PLANNED! = )
Musings on birthdays shall commence!!
